This month Travel Massive Edinburgh turns 2, so last night we threw a little party to celebrate. We held it in the Auditorium at The Ghillie Dhu. A beautiful space, which is special to me as I got married there (I am pretty sure everyone was sick to death of hearing about that by the end of the night).
A casual evening, we didn’t have an official sponsor or any freebies so we waited with baited breath to see if anyone would turn up…and they did! ( Of course they did, our little community is amazing). It was also really wonderful to see some new faces.
Katy, our guest of honour took some time out of new Mummy duties to help celebrate the group, which she founded back in March 2015. It was great to see her and have a wee toast to 1. Travel Massive and 2. Her new wee baby girl Isla.
The birthday cake was from The Sicilian Pastry Shop and I can honestly say it had the lightest sponge I have ever tasted. It was absolutely delicious and I will definately be going there for my next cake.
As the Prosecco flowed the chat got louder and the tunes got, well, worse. I was the (extremely bad) DJ. In my defence it was YouTube playlists and I could not master a smooth transition from one track to another. Still, it didn’t stop a few of us from dancing – I think I even managed a bit of Dolly, well everyone loves Dolly don’t they?
It was a great evening and I am looking forward to the next event in May – details on this coming soon!
